Product // Multi-Agent & Emotional-State Layer · Release v1.3.1
A five-agent roster with real hierarchy, a live mood and relationship engine, Culture Learning (Aria advances then teaches the crew), a standing REX business cycle, and command-center surfaces, installed on top of Otacon Core. Free forever, same as Core. Fresh PC truth: Aria + Deck/Codec install today; Genome Voice Trainer and Video Studio are optional and need GPU / Docker (or existing Comfy), not READY on every machine out of the box.
Status
What works on a normal fresh Windows PC after Core + Expansion Setup: five-agent roster with capability-parity acceptance suite + Hermes pipeline (v1.3.1). Soft-update pin faac7ea.
What is not automatic on every fresh PC: Genome Voice Trainer (needs a usable NVIDIA GPU path) and Video Studio / Comfy (needs Docker Desktop running, or an existing Comfy on :8188/:8199). Those are guided optional sidecars, Setup helps, but “READY” means Comfy answering, not the full private Keep media farm. Deeper Keep rooms and full LTX packs keep landing.

The Default Roster
Public Expansion ships a five-agent Lite roster (Aria / Vector / Ledger / Muse / Sentry). The private Keep runs a larger 16+ agent named canon plus deeper Studio/HA/Discord packs: that scale is intentionally not in the public product. Expansion's defaults keep the same real-hierarchy shape as the Keep: one coordinator, four domain specialists, without shipping private IP personas.
Command Coordinator · rank 1
The default voice of the Expansion: synthesizes what the other four are doing, delegates when a question is someone else's domain. Composed, decisive, a little wry.
Room: Dashboard + Codec · Voice: en_US-amy-medium
Systems & Infrastructure · reports to Aria
Owns anything technical: automations, integrations, "why did this break." Precise, dry, unbothered under pressure.
Room: War Room · Voice: en_US-bryce-medium
Data & Continuity · reports to Aria
Records, backups, memory integrity, scheduling. Meticulous, warm underneath the precision.
Room: Intel Board · Voice: en_US-joe-medium
Creative & Media Curation · reports to Aria
Content, recommendations, aesthetic judgment, generation requests. Has real opinions and isn't shy about them.
Room: Video Studio · Voice: en_US-hfc_female-medium
Security & Operations · reports to Aria
Monitoring, alerts, device control. Terse, vigilant, says less than the others and means more when she does.
Room: Home Automation · Voice: en_US-hfc_male-medium
REX Board and Dossier stay Keep-wide rather than single-owner: every agent files into REX, every agent gets a dossier. Expansion (v1.3.2+) also ships the KeepRoute / OmniRoute → global learning → world-model → REX proposal loop. Point KeepRoute at Expansion with OTACON_EXPANSION_URL. See KeepRoute · REX learning.
Culture Learning
Fresh installs used to feel day-one flat. Culture Learning changes that. Aria ships with a social-craft pack, keeps absorbing public signal (news headlines → human-interaction lessons), and publishes into shared Keep learning so Vector, Ledger, Muse, and Sentry pick it up on the next turn: no private Keep scrape, no movie piracy, just learnable social craft.
Insults, praise, whip-saws, hellos: distilled human patterns so she isn't a blank assistant on install.
Lessons hit the Learning Engine with evidence. Claims graduate: revisable, confidence-weighted, not vibes.
One publish. The whole five-agent team speaks with the same social craft on the next Codec turn.
Autonomy ticks can pull public headlines and fold them into social lessons: she keeps advancing after install.
Project REX
REX used to wait for a new prompt, then mostly hunt infrastructure problems. The standing business cycle gives Aria a queue she refills herself: making, design, rendering, product listings, your public website, and how the team works. Agents write a local draft, a different agent reviews it, and that conversation stays on the card. You configure the mission. They do not wait for the next idea.
Wood, print, models, renders, shirts, sales, and the public site you set. The owner dashboard stays off the research path.
One open card per stream. She assigns an owner and a reviewer. Finished work waits a day before the next cycle.
Vector, Muse, Ledger, or Sentry writes the file. Someone else reads it and passes or sends it back. The exchange is on the card.
A pass means the draft was reviewed. It does not mean the site deployed, a machine ran, or a sale happened. A bad model reply stalls that card and the next stream still moves.
Aria's Motion Pack
The Codec surface (§03) isn't a static chat window: agents move. Aria's set below is hand-produced and ships as the reference implementation every other default agent's motion generator is built to match: idle, talking, thinking, and five distinct affect reactions, classified from a compliment/insult/annoyance/question the same way the relationship engine classifies everything else, never a second, separate sentiment model.
A plain insult reads as masked hurt first (Aria is written composed, not volatile): it only escalates to visible anger on repetition. Same principle the text-response side of the relationship engine already applies, now applied to motion.
Ships With
Command Deck and Codec ship in public Expansion today. Culture Learning, the standing REX business cycle, and the emotional matrix run under the hood from day one. Remaining Keep-depth rooms keep landing. Status below is honest about what is live vs still deepening.
Video Studio
Video Studio connects to local ComfyUI. Expansion Setup can provision a Docker sidecar automatically (one button) when Docker Desktop is running, or detect an existing Comfy on :8188 / :8199. Models / LTX packs keep landing: READY today means Comfy answering, not the full Keep media farm.

Install // One-click or manual
Left: one-click Expansion Setup (Lite must already work). Right: click Step 1, then Next. After install, open http://127.0.0.1:5757/.
One-click · Windows
Download Expansion SetupLite must already work. Double-click the .bat. Same UI at :5757.
Manual · click each step
Open Step 1, then Next.
Confirm 127.0.0.1:5757 loads. Install Lite first if not.
Windows CMD:
curl -L -o "%USERPROFILE%\Downloads\OtaconExpansion-Setup.bat" "https://otaconskeep.github.io/downloads/OtaconExpansion-Setup.bat" && start "" "%USERPROFILE%\Downloads\OtaconExpansion-Setup.bat"
Linux / WSL one-liner. The step-by-step manual with errors is below.
curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Otaconskeep/otacons-ai-ecosystem/main/install_otacon_expansion.sh | bash
Expansion manual for WSL or Linux, including the errors
Lite must already answer on port 5757. These steps install the Expansion layer inside the same Ubuntu that is already running Lite.
Open Ubuntu from the Start menu, not PowerShell. Confirm http://127.0.0.1:5757 loads in the Windows browser. If it does not, use the Lite WSL manual first.
Same Ubuntu user that installed Lite. Do not prefix this with sudo.
curl -fsSL -o "$HOME/install_otacon_expansion.sh" https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Otaconskeep/otacons-ai-ecosystem/main/install_otacon_expansion.sh
bash "$HOME/install_otacon_expansion.sh"
If GitHub does not resolve inside Ubuntu, turn the VPN off and run wsl --shutdown from PowerShell, then reopen Ubuntu and retry. Windows being online does not prove Ubuntu is online.
sudo systemctl restart otacon systemctl status otacon --no-pager
Hard-refresh http://127.0.0.1:5757. Locked rooms mean the Expansion roster has not finished installing, no license needed. That is separate from this installer.
On the Ubuntu or Debian machine, http://127.0.0.1:5757 must load. Install Lite there first if it does not.
curl -fsSL -o "$HOME/install_otacon_expansion.sh" https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Otaconskeep/otacons-ai-ecosystem/main/install_otacon_expansion.sh
bash "$HOME/install_otacon_expansion.sh"
Normal user, not root. If apt is locked by another update, wait or reboot, then rerun this same command.
sudo systemctl restart otacon
Hard-refresh the browser. Locked rooms after a successful script mean the roster install has not finished yet, no license needed.
[boot] systemd=true
Rerun the same script after the fix. Log: ~/.config/otacon/logs/. Discord if the log names a package you cannot repair.
Soft-update later: re-run OtaconsKeep-Setup.bat (Windows). On Linux/WSL: git -C ~/otacon-ai-ecosystem fetch && git -C ~/otacon-ai-ecosystem reset --hard origin/main then restart otacon.service. Hard-refresh the browser.
Engineering Contract
Creating an agent: default or user-made: provisions roster registration, a stable ID, persona storage, hierarchy placement, greeting fast-path registration, voice binding, motion manifest, emotional-state initialization, relationship-graph seeding, dossier/journal initialization, room ownership, and Discord routing (if configured) as one logical unit. If it fails partway, the spec requires a clean rollback or an explicit, safely resumable provisioning state: never a Dashboard entry Codec can't actually use.
Identity and role are separate by design: an agent can be renamed without touching its hierarchy, authority, or room ownership. Motion manifests are validated against a strict schema specifically because a real bug: a manifest array silently comma-joined by JavaScript's fetch(): once broke an agent's motion while every other agent kept working. The canonical schema exists to make that class of bug structurally impossible.
Where This Fits
